BioTime, a biotechnology company headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, is focused on biomedical research and product development in regenerative medicine. Globalize has been providing IT services to BioTime since 2010. We helped BioTime migrate from their previous hosted Exchange provider to Office 365. Globalize managed the entire process from data migration from the old system to reconfiguring Outlook for the end users. Cutover occurred during a weekend and no mail was lost during the transition. By switching to Office 365, BioTime benefited from a large cost savings and improved email reliability. BioTime was also able to take advantage of the expanded functionality of Office 365, such as flexible Office Suite licensing and SharePoint collaborative tools.
Globalize also provides on-site desktop support services to BioTime on an ongoing basis, as well as managing their network infrastructure. Disaster recovery is supported using Hyper-V replication to provide system fault tolerance and off-site replicas of key systems. BioTime benefits from having a robust system capable of withstanding system failures or other disasters, as well as day-to-day computer support for their staff and for new projects.
